Win 2 Tickets To The Townsville Women's Leadership Forum

The Australian Women’s Leadership Forum is a unique development program run in key regional and remote locations across the country. Sympathetic to the needs of regional women, this highly interactive one day program takes participants on a powerful journey of self-discovery as they work together to explore themes around leadership, resilience, empowerment and career/life fulfilment.

Packed full of practical tips and advice, the program is a dynamic journey of self-reflection, networking and planning for future success. Importantly, the forum offers a unique opportunity to learn from the experiences of other women.

The Townsville Leadership Forum is carefully designed to immerse participants in the subject matter and create valuable insights informed by collective experience. During the program, a number of key themes are explored via a combination of expert presentations, collaborative discussion, experiential activities and personal reflection.

  • As President (& volunteer) of our local not for profit, Unlock the Lachs, I am advocating for inclusion and social change and my passion is driven in loving memory of my son, Lachy. I have developed some wonderful and supportive networks locally and have recently been invited as a local champion for Changing Lives, Changing Communities (an initiative of the Queensland Council of Social Services & the Queensland Disability Network). I am also a member of the Inclusive Community Advisory Committee, reporting to Townsville City Council. This workshop would be a fantastic opportunity and learning resource in taking the next step to formalise the foundations I am building and truly make a difference.

  • Having grown up in a regional area and completed university there was no option for me to work in my home town and so I moved to a capital city. I am hoping to use this day to reflect on my own experience of lifestyle sacrifice for work and to interact with others to understand potential solutions for finding meaningful work in a regional location. This day is not only planning for a better future for myself but also for me to take this message back to my home town, to empower others to find that balance for themselves regardless of physical location.

  • Amazing things happen when women not only support each other, but inspire and motivate one another by sharing our life learnings. As a proud local woman who takes great pride in advocating the empowerment of women, I would feel honoured to share a day with such a wide array of strong and capable women from varying and interesting backgrounds, be they presenters sharing their individual stories or fellow attendees I would be lucky enough to meet and share the day with.

  • There are so many reasons why I would love to attend the Australian Women Leadership Forum, on a personal level I would love to connect to some of the extraordinary women in far North Queensland who are making a difference in the business world and more importantly in the wider world. I also feel that there is an opportunity to connect with Tracey Spicer, a powerful woman with a transformative message and I believe she would resonate strongly with the themes and messages held within the pages of Beneath The Veil. To share a conversation with her on these topics would be powerful for many. And there is no event in Newcastle so I might as well come to Townsville! X
